2A- Bug List:

1)         Peoples garbage piling up and then leaving the garbage outside of apartment door.

Why this exists: I think that the main reason this happens is because some people live farther from the garbage shoot and are too lazy to walk and throw it away. They should make more garbage shoots on each hallway

2)         1 person taking up an entire study room

Why this exists: This mainly happens because people would rather study in a quiet room in the library then in the public library setting. However, sometimes they have friends meeting them and then they just switch off so that their friend can have the study room next.

3)         People using their phones while on the treadmill and taking up treadmills for a longer period of time.

Why this exists: Many people in the gym are listening to music on their phones and then that leads them to start scrolling through social media. This ends up distracting the person and they end up staying on the treadmill much longer then they would have if they were not using their phones.

4)         The Gators stadium being closed the day before a home game.

Why this exists: I think they do this to prepare for the home game, however, I don’t see why they need an entire day to set up the stadium considering there is not much to do. They could just close it the night before the game.

5)         Hearing everything through my apartment walls.

Why this exists: This exists because the people who build these apartments make the walls so thin which in the end probably saves them money.

6)         When people go to fast in the parking garage.

Why this exists: This happens because people are in a hurry to get to their apartment. This causes people to speed and then keep having to break as they go up the garage.

7)         When you buy food from the grocery store and come home and the food expires in a day.

Why this exists: This happens because not everyone checks the expiration date.

8)         When college apartments have a lack of guest parking.

Why this exists: They assume that in a college town not many people have cars and they also don’t plan space for guests.

9)         When people park too close to your car taking up two spots and you can’t open your door.

Why this exists: Many people don’t want to get back in their car and move it after they realize they are over the line.

10)   When parts of your shorts get stuck on drawers.

Why this exists: Some shorts have larger pockets and strings that catch on to hooks and drawers.

11)   When your cold in the shower because your showerhead doesn’t cover your whole body.

Why this exists: Some showerheads are not wide enough to cover your body and in college apartments, they usually put the cheaper smaller showerheads.

12)   When all your class assignments are due on one day.

Why this exists: This happens because professors don’t communicate with each other on assignment due dates. Also, there are just so many classes that they have to overlap.

13)   When your Uber driver brings a passenger and instead of being able to fit 4 people you can only fit 3.

 Why this exists: Some Uber drivers bring passengers to make them feel safer when driving random people around.

14)   When you have to go to midtown at 7pm because the lines are so long on syllabus week.

Why this exists: On syllabus week everyone wants to go out and there is not enough space in the bars so people try to get there as early as possible to make sure they get in.

15)   When your card doesn’t work at the gas station and you have to go inside and pay.

Why this exists: Sometimes the transaction doesn’t go through and the gas pump says please go inside and see attendant. I think this just happens because there is an error reading your card.

16)   When you are going to exercise and your hair tie snaps in half.

Why this exists: This happens because the hair tie has been used too much and companies don’t make them durable enough.

17)   When people leave their weights on the ground instead of putting them back on the rack.

Why this exists: This happens because people are too lazy to put the weights back and there is no one checking to make sure they do it.

18)   When 1 scooter parks in a regular parking spot.

Why this exists: Sometimes the parking spot is close to where they are going. This also happens when the scooter parking is full. There is just a high population of scooters in Gainesville so this happens a lot.

19)   When dog owners leave their dog poop on the sidewalk and it makes the whole area smell bad.

Why this exists: This happens when dog owners forget to bring a poop bag and have no option to but to leave. This can also happen from pure laziness.

20)   When your TV doesn’t have specific channels that you like.

Why this exists: This can happen if your cable provider does not have certain channels. Also sometimes you need to pay extra for certain channels.

Reflection:

When first starting this assignment I found it to be difficult to come up with bugs. Once I remembered a few it started to get easier. I also took a whole day to write things down that I noticed were annoying. Once I found a bug on a certain topic it was easier to think of other problems in the same topic. I did have more trouble on figuring out how and why they existed. Some of the bugs were easy, but others were very difficult with coming up with why it exists.
