8A- Solving the problem
· My product has to do with kidnapping and sex trafficking prevention specifically in college towns.
· Many of you have probably heard of the NIMB ring which is a smart ring with a panic button. The ring sends out an emergency alert to first responders and your emergency contacts. The ring shares your location in seconds and the battery lasts up to two weeks.
· I think this product is a great concept, but the physical appearance of the ring is very large and ugly in my opinion. I think that this is a big reason female don’t purchase this item. It also requires you to come up with a monthly payment plan which I find un-convenient to young adults on a budget.
· I would like to come up with a jewelry product such as a ring or earring that is less noticeable and has a nice appearance for males and females. I also want to find a way to make it more affordable for young adults such as a 1-time purchase instead of an expensive monthly payment plan.
· I would like this product to be sold in jewelry stores, but also big department stores such as Walmart, Target, and Kmart. This way not only will young adults see it, but their parents will see it and want to purchase it to keep their kids safe.
Hi Jessi! I like the concept for your product. I have heard of the NIMB ring, and I do agree that it looks bulky. As a non-ring person, I think the idea of putting the alert device in different pieces of jewelry is a great idea since it would cater to people who don’t like wearing rings on a daily basis. The 1-time purchase would also be convenient as well, and I think having it being sold in big department stores would help advertise it and expose it to many different people at a time.

ReplyDeleteI love your idea of having a more appealing version of the NIMB ring. I agree that more girls would be open to buying one if it was less bulky or a different piece of jewelry. I also agree that the monthly payment plan is a little pricey and this device would be more widely used if it was a one-time purchase. Overall, great job on this week's post!

ReplyDeleteThis is a smart idea and could definitely work well! This could possibly prevent a lot of evil and tragedies that occur in our daily lives. This could save one person’s life and be successful. It is a great idea and definitely is not created perfectly in today’s market. You have a great chance with this idea and should run with it!
