19A-Idea napkin 2

19A: idea napkin 2

1)         You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?

-      My name is Jessi Gargiulo and I am a second-year business management major who is pursuing the masters in international business. I have a passion for learning and accomplishing my goals. My skills are that I’m Microsoft and excel certified, have great organization skills, punctual, bilingual, and hard working when I’m assigned a task it's done ahead of time. I have some experience from a few organizations I’m in such as Alpha omicron pi, leadership development program, global gator guide, global business society, and baby gator. If I were to start a business right now I would be very involved in it making it a priority in life.
2) What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs).
-   I am offering both individuals and business a product that helps eliminate kidnapping and sex trafficking. This product also helps for any dangerous situation where you need to alert authorities in a low key way. This is an unmet need for customers because when you’re in a dangerous situation you usually first think to either run or defend yourself which isn’t always possible. This piece of jewelry will alert first responders without tipping anyone off. This is one of the safest methods to help in dangerous situations.
3) Who are you offering it to? Describe, in as much detail as possible, the demographic and psychographic characteristics of your customers. Think especially of this question: what do your customers all have in common?
-     I am offering it to prospective buyers and companies. I’m mainly focusing on the target market of young adults because they seem to be the target for sex trafficking. However, when it comes to a kidnapping that can happen to anyone children, young adults, adults. So I plan to have several types of jewelry and different designs to satisfy each customer's needs and styles. What my customers have in common Is that they care about their safety and want to feel safe and protected.
4) Why do they care? Your solution is only valuable insofar as customers believe it's valuable to them. Here, explain why customers will actually pay you money to use your product or service.
-    Customers find my solution valuable because it can save lives. This isn’t a product you would use every day in life, but when you are confronted with a dangerous situation you will be ready to escape the situation. I think people who have already been in situations like this will 100% want to purchase it to provide them with a different outcome if it were to ever happen again.
5) What are your core competencies? What sets you apart from everyone else? Also: what do you have that nobody else has?
-    There is a competitor called the NIMB ring. However, I think this ring is too large and ugly for anyone to want to wear. They also require a payment plan which I find inconvenient paying monthly fees when it could just be one flat fee. I plan to have several different types of alert jewelry such as rings, earrings, and bracelets. With these designs, I will design a female and male version with different styles and colors to choose from. I also plan to make the payment just one flat fee and code to access an app that will register your information to your alert jewelry. All of the jewelry will have Bluetooth to connect to the app. It will also send out your current location to all first responders and emergency contacts.

Feedback: I received positive feedback and didn’t need to fix too much. The only thing that I needed to add was what do my customers all have in common. So I decided to add that additional piece into my idea napkin. I also needed to proofread because I had some grammatical and mechanical errors.

  1. Hi Jessi!
I can definitely agree that there was little room for improvement from your last idea napkin. I am very impressed with how detailed and organized you made this post. I also like how you included that you have a competitor, the NIMB ring and how you thoroughly explained the disadvantages of it. Overall, great job on this assignment!
