1) Tell us about a time this past semester that you failed:
- This past semester I have been taking business finance. I have never experienced a class that has had such a high level of difficulty. With only three exams in this class as your grade, it is very hard to excel. I have put in more time and effort than any other class but I still seem to be failing. The first exam I was more relaxed because I didn’t know what to expect and ended up getting 45%. On the second exam, I tried really hard to study from the end of the last exam and still got 65%. Now I am in the position of possibly failing the course if I do not get 55% on the last exam.
2) Tell us what you learned from it:
- This made me learn that sometimes you need to ask for help and not do it all by yourself. For this next exam I have been studying with friends who have already taken the class and my other friend has been getting A’s on the last exams. Reaching out to them will help me learn the material better because they can answer my questions when I’m confused.
3) Reflect, in general, on what you think about failure. Failure is hard, isn't it?
- This failure has been hard for me to accept because I am usually a great student and have never been in this position before. Since I am now between a C or D its hard for me to deal with because I have never gotten a C in a class. Although this class is extremely hard, I wanted to get a B. This class has changed my perception on failure because this class is so hard that it made me realize that there are going to be challenges in life and that its okay to get a C when the class is insanely hard.
Hi Jessi!
ReplyDeleteI can 100% relate to this post. I also wrote my assignment about the failure I have experienced in business finance this semester. I too went into the class set on getting a B, even though I knew how hard it was. Now that the final exam is coming up I have accepted that I'm most likely getting a C and it's okay. Overall, great job on this assignment!
